Jigs & Joints ~ 2024 Update #21

Good golly, would you look at the calendar! Is that really the date? Well we'd better pick up our boots then, because they really shouldn't have been left on the calendar. My notes are all muddy now.

Well whilst I'm brushing off your sole-sod, let's celebrate the sweeping of the months by checking our what September's been up to!

Right, I think that's most of it brushed away. Now, what did I do the past two weeks? I know for a fact it's been more productive than the prior fortnight.

*Flips through calendar*

Huh... Well, that was underwhelming.

It seems, somehow, despite having been re-pepped and invigorated from getting a clean bill of oral health from m'dentist last week, and generally being feeling on tip-tap-top productive form, that I somehow have less to show you than last time. 😅

Now that's not to say I haven't been productive. That whole September comic was inked, coloured and shaded in that time. I do have to remind myself that that one comic is worth at least 4 of the old October & Co. comics in terms of effort.

But beside this my efforts have been put towards things that have largely been kept schtum. NOctober is the obvious culprit, with almost three whole finished pieces being kept under my belt. But I did release one (just one? 🥴) in the interim, so here's that alongside a bonus to tide you over.

For reference the former is of my Dishonored RPG character Wilf and his daughter Penny rendered in the approximate style of Vernon Grant, whilst the latter are three of ChibiNetherlands' NPCs from the same game - Eva, Leslie and Maxi - scribbled out in a rough Dr. Seussian form.

To make up for slightly dragging my feet on this, here are previews for the two new doodles (newdles?) I've finished betwixt updates, and also a little sneak-peeklet of the next, near-finished one.

Streams! Gosh, they've been happening, haven't they? We wound up our pre-spook evening streams with some September comic work, followed by a little light crash-bang-wallop music making, before diving head-first into the spooky jank that is Nightmare Creatures!
Weekends see us still plundering Tamriel in ESO, having new wormed our way into the vampiric, lycanthropic region of Spookrim. It's like Skyrim but spooky. And also doodles with friends which are going perfectly sensibly, thank for asking.

Morning streams - having sated our September shenaniganry - have rolled over into the mismatched lap of our good friend Tobi. Whilst we're working on a nice little portrait of them, as their siblings before, I intend on making their comic in my (scarce and erratic) own time thus freeing up morning streams for more free-form buffoonery.

And that about concludes the summary of events. Looking forward (as I often find useful in the event of not wanting to walk into a lamppost (you can't prove anything)) we can see some more silly NOctober doodles, work on the little videos to come alongside them, some updates to some older comics to give January and February some actual eyes, commission work, RPG character portraits, streams, October's portrait and comic, super hush-hush secret stuff, as well as a plethora of other activities and run-on sentences.

Until then I need a budew to add you. Wait, hang on *ruffles notes* Ah! I need to bid you adieu. As ever a heart-chonked thank you for everything you lovely people and goblins do to support me and my crispy capers. A new year's not too far from the horizon, and I hope to have a little something for you as thanks before it begins to crest.

Look after yourselves,
Crispy 💜
