2024 Christmas Card

A red and green stylised illustration of twelve characters, mostly Frankenstain-esque constructs, mimicking the 12 days of Christmas: January is the maid-a-milking, squeezing milk from an udder into a saucepan; February excitedly peers through a monocular magnifier at the golden egg that the goose beside them just a-laid; March, at the bottom, front-strokes through the water leading a trail for three cygnets to a-swim; Emm (AKA April) has a-leapt, knees-in-hands, into the water in front of March; May, top middle, attempts to a-pipe a cake despite being surprised by their siblings' shenanigans; June, left, stares at the viewer showing of their 5 gold rings of bling; July, middle, gasps in surprise at the partridge emerging from their pear tree-like afro; August, top-right and a-drumming, slams a mallet into a large bass drum; Below them September proudly lets loose their pet winged turtle to flutter off, in turtle-dove fashion; October, bottom left, is cheerfully a-dancing along to some music blasting in their headphones; Above them November holds a megaphone up to a caw-ing crow amplifying its squawk; And near the bottom December quietly reads a Parisian book beside a beret-adorned French Hen. This is all wrapped up in a green and red striped border.

Now that the seasonal post has finally spaghetti'd around the world to most recipients, I think I can comfortably share last year's Christmas card design. A silly little play on the 12 Days of Christmas and my 12 Calendar siblings, as well as a quick experiment in more a limited colour palette.
