Hello! A little light trigonometry: The mathematical function known as 'Sine', often written 'sin', is given by the height of the point on the unit circle whose anti-clockwise angle from the horizontal is the given input. It is well-known for its infinite wibbling up and down and up and down forever in a smooth oscillation. This makes it ideal for a number of applications, amongst which are audio synthesis, fluid dynamics and, of course, metaphors for how much stuff I have to show you in any given update. We're in a dip, that's what I'm getting at.
Part of the blame is that I finished a video! The Dead Island Highlights Part 1! But I've already shown you that in a separate post reserved for patron's eyes only. That is until it's released to the general public of course. So that's one thing I don't have to show.
Another few things I don't have to show you are the next three videos I have in the works! Naturally we have part 2 of the above highlights, roughly edited already but with much polishing and png-waggling to perform atop.
Besides that though is the mini-cannibalisation of last year's style challenge drawings into a quick '3 Random Doodles' video. Who knows who'll turn up! Spoilers: it's the only three I really ended up liking. 😅
And beside them, squeezed at the end of the table, there's a super secret third video for which, unusually for me, I can supply you a release date: March 30th. Why then? Well, you'll just have to wait to find out, won't you.
That picture is thoroughly unrelated to the videos, it's just a commission I completed for my brother recently. It's good for padding at least.
Speaking of things taking too long, Chaos Chess! Fifth on the list of things I don't have to show you, progress on that front is, uh, progressing: I've overhauled the entire multiplayer system to use Unity's Relay and eliminate a plethora of security issues, whilst also zhuzhing up the UI and fixing a few bugs hither and there. I'd say that it's really not too far away from release, but I think you all know how much confidence that instils at this point. 🥴
This is something I can show you: A cleaned-up version of a morning stream doodle of all of my non-verbal characters having a nice quiet time together. What are they doing? Ask them. They won't tell you.
In a similar vein something I could show you but won't is a small comic based on a friend's birthday cake I made a couple of weeks back. The reason I won't show you is that it makes absolutely zero sense outside the context of their personal experience and that's not something I'm going to share. Why mention it at all, then? Well... I've got to justify my time somehow. Also it implies I'm still capable of making comics, so that's helpful. 😅
As for the dregs of my distracted miscellanea with have the development of a Javascript-based flashcard system to help me learn Dutch (it actually seems to work (in both senses)), watching Barbie films with friends (vital to my work-life balance, I assure you) and noodling around with ideas for a roguelike JRPG dungeon-crawler in which you get 6 random characters, based on my OCs, all of whom have wildly different and strange game mechanics. I'm late today in writing this update because I was distracted detailing mechanics for January's soup-mancy. Focus is overrated.
Streaming happens, I'm oft informed. Mornings (when not beset with hay fever) have found us stumbling into my open-ended plan of making an in-site height chart for my OCs as a method of allowing people to look up who in the heck they are.
Evening streams find us winding up the Dark Souls II Randomiser in preparation for HITMAN 3 on Tue- and Wednes-days. Our regular Saturday friend-diggy times continue in Return to Moria, before we hop on to Gartic and/or Magma to doodle with friends on Sundays.
Also there are some doodles from a Humblewood RPG I'm playing in. One of our characters can turn into a castle. Don't ask.
Anywho, that'll be all for now! I hope you're all looking forward to my self-imposed deadline of a Sunday video release, but thereafter I'm out into the blustery wilderness of commissions whilst skiing between the slalom of other masochistic schedule-breaking distractions.
Thank you ever so much for everything you do for me, it's highly appreciated in ways I'm ill-equipped to express in a paragraph at the end of an already waffle-filled post. So for now I'd best just make the most of the time you've afforded me, and I hope you can all do the same.
Look after yourselves,
Crispy 💜
