Substitute Feature ~ Supporter Update (24-11-2025)

I know that I've mentioned this before. I know that I've mentioned mentioning this before. Knowing me, there's a strong possibility that I've mentioned mentioning that I've mentioned this before. But I'll say it again: That was never a fortnight.

We're back with an underwhelming, sparse update! Why? There many be many reasons, but it does not batter. Best to bake on a low heat.

A large chunk of my time has been spent commissioneeing, wherein we have crested the first and greatest peak. It being mostly downhill from here, my aim is to finish by the end of the month. If you're a patron that's the same as the end of the week. If you're not, that's the same as right now.

This subsequently allows me to open up sketch commissions right on the cusp of that magical time of year that nobody has any money. Well, no more money than they normally do anywho. I'm a bona-fide business pro, let me tell you.

Since I can't show you ongoing commissions, here's an older commission I'm not sure I've shared before to act as a placeholder.

Videos are still progressing! The next highlight video is 12 doodles, 2 and a half seconds of heavy metal and an afternoon's subtitling away from getting out the digital door.

I'm simultaneously filming and editing progress on making m'festive card, the printing of which is now under-way. A full test-print and now four of the twelve final stencil impressions are hanging up to dry beside me. The fruits of this will either soon be seen in person or otherwise in video form in the new year.

Since I stubbornly refuse to show you either of these, here's a placeholder doodle of my gremlin Jay & Jigsawyer's lovable doofus Puck enjoying some Cheeb stream-inspired Team Skull shenanigans

Chaos Chess! Still unreleased but finally being tested! I've managed to fix a bunch of little issues that flew under my radar, not least of which was the inability to actually play a game when you first boot it up. Probably important that.

If you'd like details, I've added a delay to the win-screen so the final move is viewable, fixed the 'Blooper' movement card to do what it actually says, fixed the in-game turn indicators to move smoothly, bob up and down and stay out of sight when not needed, and fixed the version number in-game to warn you if you're connecting to someone with an older version.

Since none of that particularly lends itself to being put in a png, here's a placeholder image of my recent adventures in yarnsmithing, including a completed Tigger for a festive gift, a satisfyingly hand-wound ball of yarn, and some bobbly thread hand-spun from a couple of years of off-cuts using a jelly bean pot lid blu-tacked to a stick.

What's that coming over the hill? Is it a streamer!? You bet your bottom shilling it is! And foaming to the surface we see the buggy (by design) shenanigans of Silksong still merrily scuttling away.

Much like its fodder, Dying Light refuses to stay buried and has continued beyond what we might politely refer to as its ending. Thus we rev our way into it's open-field DLC with much buggy-crashing to be had. A brief 21 hours or so later we wind down with traditional friend doodlage, and the perpetual question "What do I draw next?"

Since I can't show you any of that, here's a placeholder of a pangolin holding a birthday balloon. Wait, what? I can show you stream doodles? Oh alright then. *Gently tosses pangolin into a muddy puddle*

And with that we come to the predictions of the next two weeks: All being well that highlight video will be out and ready to entertain (as much as is likely) and I'll have breached the barriers of this long-running commission, hollering on about new opportunities. My festive cards should be printed and hopefully sent to their new homes, with the associated video edited up ready for the new year. I may even have crocheted an Eeyore to accompany Tigger.

Alas there shan't be a newsletter this month what with seasonal shenaniganry, but hopefully we can sniff our way back onto the faint trail of my original mid-month schedule from December onwards. I'm considering paring the content down slightly, alternating what is and isn't included between issues to help lighten my shallow but wide load just a smidge. We'll see.

For now though it's time to solemnly wave our caps over the stern, loose-knotted scarves billowing in the briny winds as the ship sets forth from the port of Now to the oceans of, uh, The Bit After Now. A heart-pumped thanks for your support, and a brain-throbbed urge to make sure you're taking care of yourselves, physically, mentally, holistically, financially, exhileratingly, sensually and chocolately.

Look after yourselves,
Crispy 💜
